Day One saw the teams up early and into the field driving amix of YamahaWolverine and Viking Side- By-Side units as they hunted Rio Grande turkeys under less than ideal conditions. The 2nd annual Yamaha Turkey Bass Smash was recently held with a mix of teams competing in this one of a kind event. The event which features one day of turkey hunting and one day of bass fish- ing uses a unique scoring system that rewards the teams competing with points based on the hunt- ing and fishing competitions. This year last year’s winner Yamaha Marines Brad Dryer was teamed with Yamaha Pro Angler Keith Combs. They competed against Yamaha pro angler Ray Hanselman and Yamaha Racing Pro Ryan Viliopoto, Jeff Reynolds and Rehan Nana of Garmin and Wade Middleton and Scott Newby of Yamaha Outdoors. The event held outside of Del Rio, Texas and host- ed by the team at CarecoTV at the Whitetail Dia- ries deer camp featured cameras assigned to ev- ery team to capture all the action for two episodes on Americana Outdoors. Each team stayed at the camp, talked strategy, checked shotguns, fishing gear and feasted on meals as provided by Angel Middleton.
