The most recent deer hunting season is in our rear-view mirror. This past year was as up-and-down of a season asI have had in a long time. However, it will make for great content both from the successful hunts and the ones where we didn’t harvest a thing. We’ll have more behind- the-scenes looks at what happens around the camps, in the field, and everywhere else to tie it all together. Looking ahead, we are getting out on the water in between all the cold fronts that seem to be showing up this time of the year. We’ve been rigging boats, cleaning gear, and counting the days until college bass fishing season kicks off on the famed Kentucky Lake. For those of you who are gear junkies, we’ve been rolling out a lot of how-to assets on new products, setting up your boats, electronics, and more on both Americana Outdoors and its sister fishing show Fisherman’s Handbook. You can find all that content and more online on Outdoor Action TV or YouTube. Speaking of Outdoor Action TV, we will be rolling out an all-new version soon! YAMAHA MARINE’S POWER PAY® PROGRAM EXPANDS, OFFERS PAYOUTS FOR 506 TOURNAMENTS IN 2022

Yamaha Marine will expand its Power Pay contingency program in 2022 to include 506 tournaments, including 14 new trails. Power Pay, which recently surpassed 1,000 members, rewards anglers with cash payouts for running eligible Yamaha outboards in sanctioned tournaments. “The expansion of Yamaha Power Pay is a testament to the growth of competitive fishing. Anglers choose Yamaha for the best power and unmatched reliability, and this program rewards their loyalty and passion,” said Connor Megan, Senior Regional Marketing Specialist, Yamaha Marine Engine Systems. “We look forward to adding more anglers to the program, and we wish all competing anglers the best of luck during the 2022 season.” Competitors don’t have to win a tournament to receive a Power Pay payout. The program rewards the highest placing angler in each sanctioned tournament running Yamaha power. “Choosing Yamaha and signing up for Power Pay were some of the best decisions I’ve ever made,” said Jake Mims, a student at Brewton Parker College in Georgia and the first college angler to take home Power Pay cash. “I saw videos Chris Zaldain and Brandon Palaniuk posted about signing up for Power Pay and I’m glad I took their advice!” Amateurs, pros and even families can register for Power Pay. The Engebretsons, a family of anglers from Wausau, Wisconsin, used the program to turn their weekend hobby into extra cash and lifelong memories together. “We all enjoy fishing, and both my son and daughter have now begun competing in bass and walleye tournaments,” said Guy Engebretson after his family won their third Power Pay event last year. “When we learned about Power Pay, registering was a no-brainer for us. We own Yamaha outboards, and we compete in tournaments using those outboards. Why not use the product we know and trust to earn a little extra during the tournaments? It was a simple decision that paid off quickly.” Since launching Power Pay in October 2019, Yamaha Marine has awarded more than $382,000 to anglers competing in saltwater and freshwater tournaments across the country. YAMAHA RELEASES HELM MASTER® EX UPDATES, INTRODUCES XTO EC® PROPELLERS

Yamaha Marine announced updated and new Helm Master® EX boat control system features in addition to a new XTO EC® (“Extra Cup”) propeller that delivers better grip in specific boat applications. “Helm Master EX is the pinnacle of fully integrated digital boat control. These updates expand the system’s features to include improvements and completely new, customer-requested capabilities,” said David Meeler, New Product Introduction Manager, Yamaha Marine Engine Systems. “The new XTO EC prop helps the blades hold water longer for better grip in those applications where ventilation can be an issue. Developed from builder, dealer and customer feedback, these new products further enhance boating experiences for a wide variety of applications.” New Helm Master EX Features ThenewHelmMasterEXincludesaJoystickStation option to control and maneuver boats equipped with Helm Master EX Full Maneuverability. Lateral Assist better compensates automatically for wind

and current, helping to maintain heading and direction when moving laterally in joystick mode. The Pattern Steer feature adds a Williamson Turn and Pattern Search, which joins spiral and zig zag patterns for easier operation and more flexibility. Also new is a measurement feature for Distance Remaining.v When fine-tuning any SetPoint® function using the joystick, the display now indicates the total distance requested and the amount of distance remaining in the adjustment. This helps operators know how much additional movement to expect. Boaters now have access to a single function Trim Assist button through their Digital Electronic Control (DEC) to toggle this function on or off without having to use the gauge. Also, a new Automatic Off Timer automatically powers the entire system down after one hour without activity – just in case the operator forgets before leaving the boat. The HelmMaster CL5 and Yamaha Multi- Functional Display Interfaces (MFDI) equipped displays now offer Bennett® trim tab settings,

which show position of the tabs and allow for adjustment of the AutoTrim Pro (ATP) setting. Select Furuno®-brand Multi-Functional Displays (MFDs) are now compatible with Helm Master EX. By installing a Yamaha MFD Interface with HDMI output, Furuno® NavNet® TZtouch® 16F and 19F models can show Yamaha display information directly on the MFD, and the operator can view and execute Yamaha functions through a convenient, included hand-held controller. TrackPoint® with Way Point Arrival is also now active for these models. This includes automatic deceleration with selectable distance and the ability to select which SetPoint® mode to enter upon arrival at the final waypoint. In addition, direct transition from DriftPoint Track to DriftPoint® is now available without deleting the route on the MFD. Course Hold Offset is now stackable up to 10 times. Operators can easily add multiples of the pre- selected offset distance (10, 20, or 50 feet) simply by holding the joystick. A beep will sound for each multiple, and the distance remaining appears on the display. Existing Helm Master EX customers who wish to upgrade their software and/or hardware can do so through their authorized Yamaha Marine dealers beginning in Spring of 2022. New XTO EC Propellers Yamahaintroducesanewlineofpropellersintended specifically for XTO Offshore® applications requiring additional propeller grip on the water. New XTO “Extra Cup” (EC) propellers feature the Yamaha Shift Dampener System, a large diameter and specially designed blade surface area engineered with an extra trailing edge cup. Pitch models include 17-inch, 20-inch, 21-inch, 24-inch and 25-inch in both right- and left-hand rotation. The new XTO EC propellers will become available over the spring and summer of 2022.
