YAMAHA’S ANNUAL MEDIA EVENT

This past November the team at Americana Outdoors and Whitetail Diaries hosted what’s become an annual Yama- ha’s annual media event to showcase the variety of side x side units that many hunters and ranchers use nation- wide. This year we were joined by David Draper from Pe- tersen’s Hunting, two-time UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw and by journalist Casey Cordeiro in camp. Much like past media events hosted by Yamaha there were numerous side-by-sides on the property ranging from two and four passenger Wolverines to six passenger Vikings. The goal to allow all the guest to see firsthand how all the units are used by the Whitetail Diaries and Amer- icana Outdoors staff in the field during hunts as well as how they use them for management and field work. In addition, on this hunt both David would be using a new Ten Point Crossbow model to be released in January of 2020 and TJ would be trying out Ten Point Nitro XRT. Finally, Casey who was on his very first hunt for a big game animal would be hunting with a Thompson Center Com- pass Rifle. With near perfect November hunting weather in Texas an- ticipation was high for success. TJ was first on the board with an awesome 8 point highlighted by large brow tines that was harvested at about 30 yards with the Nitro XRT out of an elevated Muddy Tripod stand alongside a bluff

and dry creek bed. Casey was next on the board taking his first buck ever after waiting for the perfect shot near a large mesquite flat after having to deal with several miscues by the camera team. To wrap up the hunt David was able to get a great buck on his last hunt nearby an oak lined dry creek bed while field testing that new Ten Point crossbow.

The particpants of Yamaha’s Annual Media Event ex- clusively used the Yamaha Wolverine X4 (above) and the Yamaha Viking VI Ranch Edition (next page) Side-by-Sides to travel to and from their stands and haul their quarry back to camp. Every driver walked away with smiles after expe- riencing the smooth, quiet, and comfortable ride that one can have in a Yamaha Side-by-Side.
