NEXT-GENERATION DOMINATION

KEY FEATURES • Pad-bottom hull with new, stronger keel • Fiberglass bow panel flush-mounts electronics • Wide, solid platform bow to stern, no stepping on rods • Offset transom accepts dual Power- Poles with jackplate • Diamond plate panels on trailer; new wheel design

Ranger Boats has taken one of the best-selling and best-performing aluminum bass rigs and added even more tournament-ready capability. A pad-bottom hull delivers greater performance and handling in conjunction with an offset transom that accepts dual Power-Poles with a jackplate. An innovative keel design delivers greater strength and rigidity than ever. The front deck is ripe with features but retains the same extra-wide design that delivers superior stability and space for anglers and gear. Other, more narrow designs are cramped and have you stepping on rods all day. A fiberglass bow panel flush- mounts electronics up to 9” front and center, which lies at the perfect angle for easy viewing. A port side rod box holds sticks up to 7’ while the center stow carries rods up to 8’ 6”. An insulated cooler rides in front of the console and just aft of a lockable storage box. The underside of every lid features foam insulation. The cockpit features twin footboards and a storage step to the front deck, while the gas tank has been moved under the seats, freeing up more space in the bilge for pumps, props and batteries. Rear deck boxes carry more gear than ever. The Ranger Trail® trailer features diamond plate panels for rugged good looks and extra traction. The RT188p is nothing short of Next-Generation Domination.

YAMAHA INTRODUCES NEW, UPDATEDV6 OFFSHORE OUTBOARDS FOR 2021

Yamaha Marine kicks off 2021 with brand new product offerings including updated V6 Offshore outboards that combine new benefits with a reliable performance legacy. The new F250 and F300 V6 Offshore Digital Electronic Control (DEC) models boast built-in Digital Electric Steering (DES), Thrust Enhancing Reverse Exhaust (TERE) and other XTO Offshore®-inspired features. “The new, updated F300 and F250 4.2-liter V6 Offshore outboards now have many of the benefits previously only available on the XTO Offshore. Combiningahighperformance, bigblockV6engine featuring outstanding power and fuel efficiency, Yamaha brings new levels of convenience and control to a proven performer,” said Ben Speciale, President, Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit. “The introduction of these outboards in addition to a newflush, side-mount DEC for HelmMaster EX and Saltwater Series II HP propellers allows Yamaha to start the year with new innovative products that meet customer demand.” NEW YAMAHA V6 OFFSHORE The same smooth, fast and precise Digital Electric Steering (DES) introduced on the XTO Offshore is now built-in to F300 and F250 V6 variants. The latest boat steering technology provides smooth, fast steering and, unlike some conventional steering systems, draws battery amperage only

when actively in use. DES is significantly easier to rig than conventional steering systems and creates an uncluttered bilge with no steering pumps, hoses, hydraulic lines or connections, no bleeding procedure, less complexity and straightforward serviceability. There’s also a bolt-on version of DES for conventional DEC models of the new V6 Offshore. Thrust Enhancing Reverse Exhaust (TERE) keeps exhaust bubbles above the anti-ventilation plate and out of the propeller below 2500 rpm when in reverse. This means the prop bites only clean water, resulting in outstanding reverse thrust and control to back down on fish. It’s especially effective when combined with the fast precision of Digital Electric Steering and Helm Master EX Full Maneuverability, which is helpful around docks and confined spaces. Yamaha’s exclusive TotalTilt™ function allows complete tilt up from any position with a simple double push of the “UP” trim/tilt button, or full tilt down (until trim ram contact) by the same double push of the “DOWN” trim/tilt button. There’s also a new built-in integrated tilt limiter to help prevent inadvertent damage. Plus, built-in DES models tilt higher out of the water than previous models, which helps lessen the potential for corrosion.

YAMAHA SALTWATER SERIES II HP PROPELLERS The “HP” version of Yamaha’s venerable Saltwater Series II propeller is crafted to maximize speed on certain lightweight V6 applications that are not surface piercing. Designed specifically for lighter weight boats using Yamaha’s 4.2-liter V6 Offshore and 4.2-liter VMAXSHO® 25-inchX-shaft platform, the new Saltwater Series II HP provides potentially higher top speed in certain applications. Featuring new blade geometry, the SWS II HP provides a potential speed advantage over the Saltwater Series II propeller in lighter-weight applications. All Saltwater Series II HP propellers feature Yamaha’s patented Shift Dampener System, SDS®, for smooth, quiet operation and greatly reduced shift “clunk.” Yamaha’s new Saltwater Series II HP propellers will be available in 18-inch, 19-inch, 20-inch, and 21-inch pitches beginning in March. All model pitches feature availability in both right and left-hand rotation. Yamaha Marine products are marketed throughout the United States and around the world. Yamaha Marine Engine Systems, based in Kennesaw, Ga., supports its 2,000 U.S. dealers and boat builders with marketing, training and parts for Yamaha’s full line of products and strives tobe the industry leader in reliability, technology and customer service. Yamaha Marine is the only outboard brand to have earned NMMA®’s C.S.I. Customer Satisfaction Index award every year since its inception. Visit www.yamahaoutboards.com.

Even after a decade of proven performance, the new 4.2-liter V6 Offshore has an improved lower unit featuringnewcomponentsanddesignfeatures that add durability, further increasing consumer confidence. Capitalizing on many styling cues from its big brother, the XTO-like appearance in pearlescent white or signature Yamaha gray now feature a color-matched lower unit, a new one- piece top cowling with water-draining air duct molding, a new bottom cowling and apron shape and raised chrome graphics on built-in DES models only. The new Yamaha V6 Offshore models are available beginning in February. YAMAHA FLUSH, SIDE-MOUNT DEC FOR HELM MASTER EX The new flush, side-mount DEC for the Helm Master EX system is designed to bring the benefits of Helm Master EX to a broader array of boats. Smooth, precise and easy to install, the control gives boat builders and dealers more flexibility when rigging luxury pontoons, premium dual consoles and other single engine craft where digital electronic control is desired. Customers, likewise, will enjoy its ergonomic design, useful features and comfortable operation. Yamaha’s flush, side-mount DEC for Helm Master EX is available beginning in March.

THE FASTEST COMPACT CROSSBOW EVER

speed, power, and accuracy. Shoulder it and shoot it – you’ll understand why it redefines the compact crossbow in size, speed, comfort, and noise level.” COMFORT REDEFINED The Havoc’s reduction in length to just 26.5” overall is accomplished with the development of TenPoint’s NEW 16-inch -MICRO-TRAC™ barrel and NEWultra-light, two-pieceTECH-TACTICAL™stock. The fluted aluminum barrel also reduces the flight deck surface by an incredible 50%, increasing accuracy and ensuring the longest string life in the industry, while the new stock features a tactical styled butt stock, as well as a hollow pocket that houses the ACUslide cocking and de-cocking system. In addition, the stock’s butt plate adjusts 1” to provide all shooters the ideal fit and combines with the NEW EVO-X Marksman Elite Precision Scope to yield perfect eye level alignment.

TenPoint recently launched the industry’s fastest crossbow-per-inch – the NEW Havoc RS440. Delivering 440 FPS with same-hole accuracy from a platform measuring only 26.5” long and 7.5” narrow, the Havoc RS440 redefines compact crossbow performance and comfort, while providing safe de-cocking with the revolutionary ACUslide cocking and de-cocking system. “The Havoc is the most comfortable compact crossbow on the market. Period.,” said TenPoint CEO Rick Bednar. “When we launched a compact bow project, we wanted to create a bow that felt good to shooters of all sizes, while implementing our reverse draw technology that allows us to deliver unmatched Crossbow Technologies

SCOPE OPTIONS The NEW EVO-X Marksman Elite Scope, included in the bow package, features a 2-8X, capable of precision downrange accuracy out to 100 yards. The variable speed design is compatible with crossbows shooting up to 500 FPS, the Marksman Elite scope features external Target Turrets for easy adjustment to windage and elevation (one click represents 1/2” MOA at 100 yards) for unmatched long-range accuracy. The Havoc is also available with the NEW Garmin Xero® X1i Crossbow Scope. “Our new partnership with Garmin mates the world’s most advanced crossbow with the most advanced crossbow sight on the market,” said Rick Bednar, TenPoint CEO. “You’ve never seen a crossbow package like this before – and like our other ACUslide crossbows it offers silent cocking and safe de-cocking.”

SPEED AND POWER The Havoc features a patented reverse draw bow assembly that draws the string through the riser, creating a 14-inch power stroke. The increased power stroke generates more speed with less draw weight – creating a smoother, quieter shot. The elongated power stroke also keeps the arrow nock engaged with the string before release – this is a critical component in performance, as the longer the nock remains engaged with the string, themore accurate the crossbow will shoot. In addition, this center-mounted riser provides superior balance, eliminating the “nose heavy” feel of traditional crossbows and making it easier to hold steady, increasing the shooters accuracy. The RX7-Cam™ system rotates an incredible 360-degrees to produce speeds of 440 feet-per- second with a 400-grain arrow. The crossbow’s revolutionary Vector-Quad™ cable technology utilizes four cables instead of the traditional two which eliminates cam lean and generates straight- nock travel leading to same-hole downrange accuracy. The ACUslide, the talk of the 2020 crossbow market, features the company’s groundbreaking Auto-Brake Gear System, which allows for silent cocking and safe and controlled de-cocking of the

crossbow. The Auto-Brake Gear System eliminates the potential of losing control which can lead to injury or costly bow damage during the cocking or de-cocking process. While cocking and de-cocking with the ACUslide, the user can remove their hand from the handle at any point, with no other action required – and the handle will stop in place. The 6-inch XTEND Adjustable Crank Handle reduces cocking effort to 5-pounds and stores securely into the butt-stock. The Havoc RS440 features the company’s S1 trigger. This 2-stage, zero-creep design features an advanced roller-sear system that delivers a consistent crisp, 3.5-pound pull. The trigger is equipped with a DFI™ (Dry-Fire-Inhibitor) and is fitted with a nylon-filament arrow retention brush that improves arrow grip and alignment to reduce noise and vibration. An integrated string stop system is also included to further reduce noise and vibration. The crossbow weighs just 7.5-pounds (w/o accessories), measures only 26.5-inches (w/o stirrup) in length and shoots up to a supercharged 440 feet-per-second with a 400-grain arrow. The Havoc RS440 comes with the new EVO-X CenterPunch 16 carbon arrows. The ultra-accurate 16’ arrows weigh 400-grains and feature 17.5% FOC. Each arrow is inspected for straightness to within .001-inch and each package is weight matched to within 1-grain per arrow. Decorated in Veil® Alpine camo or Graphite Gray, the Havoc RS440 ships completely assembled and includes a Ready-To-Hunt package.

SMOKED CITRUS SALMON

by: Moody Foodie Tulsa

DIRECTIONS: 1. Set your Bradley Smoker to 226°F with Cherry flavored bisquettes and set a timer for 45 minutes. 2. When buying your Salmon make sure you ask to have the pin bones removed that way you do not have to mess with them. If the Salmon has the pin bones, remove them prior to moving forward. 3. Time to season the meat. In an empty seasoning bottle, mix the brown sugar, sea salt (ground), pepper (ground), celery seed, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and onion powder. Sprinkle a nice coating on top of the Salmon filets. 4. Using a zester, zest the orange skin onto the salmon to add a little more flavor. Using the remaining orange, slice the rest into 1/4 inch slices and place on top of each filet. 5. Moving to the smoker; using the Bradley Smoker nonstick mat, place the filets onto the wire rack. Place the filets into the smoker and start your timer. Remember, do not smoke the meat to a specific time but rather a specific temperature. 6. After 45 minutes in the smoker, use a skillet to add 4 tbsp. butter and melt it down to a liquid. Turn on medium- high to high heat on the burner to allow the butter to brown a bit. Remove the salmon from the smoker and place into the skillet and hear the sizzle. 7. Cook in the skillet turning on all three sides (except the top side) until the internal temperature reaches 145 F.

INGREDIENTS: • 2 Fresh Salmon filets

Yamaha POWER PAY Broadens Eligibility Requirements, Adds NewTournaments to 2021 Season

Yamaha Marine today announced the expansion of Power Pay, a contingency program that provides a cash bonus to Yamaha anglers who place in sanctioned salt and freshwater tournaments. For the 2021 season, Yamaha adds 68 new competitive fishing events, enhances the payout bonus amounts and broadens the eligibility requirements to eligible anglers who own a Yamaha outboard with a warranty start date within the 60 months prior to registering for Power Pay. “The rules no longer require Power Pay anglers to be the original outboard owners. Now, Power Pay eligi- bility is open to second, third and even fourth Yamaha owners as long as the outboard has been warran- ty registered within the stated time,” said Connor Megan, Senior Regional Marketing Specialist, Yamaha Marine Engine Systems. “The first year of the program was a tremendous success with hundreds of qualified anglers winning nearly $140,000 in Power Pay bonus money despite the difficult situations created by COVID-19. We think 2021 will be even bigger.” Introduced in the fall of 2019, Power Pay gives anglers the opportunity to receive compensation for running eligible Yamaha outboards. Eligible anglers running Yamaha outboards can sign up for the pro- gram by visiting yamahapowerpay.com. All applicants are required to accept and adhere to the Yamaha Angler Code of Ethics before completing the registration for the program. Once registered, the highest placing angler in specified Power Pay sanctioned tournaments that meets all eligibility requirements will be compensated by Yamaha accordingly. New tournaments for 2021 include the MLF Bass Pro Tour, Bass Champs Texas, Carolina Bass Challenge, Texas TeamTrail®, Nichols Team Series Oklahoma, Phoenix BFL Regionals, EFL™ Redfish Contender Se- ries and EFL™ Redfish Tour. Additional eligible Power Pay tournaments and trails include the Bassmas- ter Classic®, Bassmaster® Angler of the Year, Bassmaster Opens, B.A.S.S. If you’re thinking about going camping, chances are high that you don’t just want to head out to the great outdoors and kick back. You want to actually go fishing, hiking, and maybe even hunting. Most people who go camping do; in fact, half of all campers indicated that their love of the outdoors sparked their interest in camping. But if you’ve never gone camping before, you may not realize that you need to think very carefully about the type of equipment you bring along with you -- even if you want to “rough it”. Perhaps one of the least thought about yet most important pieces of camping gear that you should consider is the type of cooler you’re using. Yes, there are different types of coolers to choose between. The main types of coolers are soft side coolers and hard coolers. If you’re familiar with soft side coolers, you may not initially want to branch out to hard coolers. After all, aren’t they bulkier and more difficult to carry? In reality, hard coolers offer a lot of unique benefits to campers. Let’s explore some of them below 4 BENEFITS OF USING HARD SIDED COOLERS

before your next camping trip.

1. SIZE RANGE Typically, most soft sided coolers are going to be small or medium. There aren’t a lot of large soft sided coolers, simply because these coolers are meant to be carried and are meant to be flexible. Hard coolers, on the other hand, come in a vast range of sizes. This is perfect for campers who are bringing a lot of drinks, or for that matter a big cut of meat that they planned on grilling in the great outdoors. Hard coolers typically range from 20 liters to the gargantuan 350 liters in size. Usually, those who are looking to spend a weekend camping will settle on a cooler between 50 and 70 liters. But if you do need a massive cooler, have no fear; many hard coolers come equipped with wheels. 2. LASTING POWER Hard coolers have the advantage against soft coolers in terms of lasting power. This means that they tend to keep items colder for a longer period

of time. Because soft sided coolers are made of more flexible and therefore thinner materials, it’s easier for heat to penetrate them and melt the ice inside. This may not be a concern if you’re only transporting items for a short amount of time or going on a shorter trip, but it’s a bigger problem for extended trips that may involve transporting the coolers over greater distances. Additionally, you should consider the types of items being stored in the coolers. While it’s a mere nuisance if canned drinks aren’t as cold as they could be, certain food items can be prone to rotting. This is also why most live bait coolers are hard coolers. It’s important that these types of items are kept cold. 3. DURABILITY Undoubtedly, hard coolers tend to be more durable than soft coolers. While soft coolers can definitely take a beating, they’re more easily ripped. On the other hand, though hard coolers can crack under a great deal of pressure, they are generally made to withstand a lot of jostling and potential damage. This should also be considered if you’re worried about animals tampering with your coolers. Hard coolers can have more effective seals, which prevents animals from smelling the items within them. But furthermore, they’re harder for animals to tamper with and rip into. 4. THEY’RE EASIER TO TRANSPORT As previously mentioned, hard sided coolers often come with wheels. While it may be easier to carry a smaller cooler by hand, you probably won’t want to do that over a great distance. Therefore, it’s actually easier to transport a hard sided cooler, especially if that cooler is on the larger side. Although it can be difficult to decide between different coolers, between soft and hard coolers you should be able to find one that is right for you. For many people, it’s more a question of figuring out what is going to be transported in that cooler, and in what conditions. That can guide you to the right decision.

WINTERIZING TIPS: STORAGE ASHORE

Even a brief cold spell that lasts only a night or two can do considerable damage. In temperate states, boat ownersmustwinterizeenginesand freshwater systems, especially when boats are stored ashore. In deep freeze states, boats stored ashore must be winterized earlier than boats stored in the water. SUPPORTING HULLS To say that a boat is better off stored on land is to assume it will be resting on something that provides adequate support. According to one industry expert, three times as many boat hulls are damaged by mishandling ashore than are damaged in the water. Some of the boats on shore are damaged suddenly when they are blown over by windstorms. Many others, however, are damaged slowly because hulls were distorted in storage, creating problems ranging from poor engine alignment to broken stringers and bulkheads. It is wise to remove as much weight as possible from the hull before you have it hauled. Emptying the water tanks is a good example. However, it normally is not wise to mostly empty the fuel tanks because of condensation and problems related to ethanol. The most reliable support is provided by custom- made cradles, which are designed specifically to support critical areas of a boat--its engines,

In some parts of the country, where winter means several months of bitterly cold weather, storing boats ashore is the norm. In warmer climates, however, ice and snow may occur infrequently, and the choice between storage ashore and storage in the water is open to discussion. Storage in the water means you might get a jump on the boating season next spring. On the other hand, boats stored ashore (on high ground) won’t sink. If you have a choice, storage ashore is a safer bet. Storage ashore may also be less expensive over the life of a boat, since a hull surrounded by air for several months each winter is less likely to develop blisters than a hull that remains in the water. These blisters occur on many boats when water soaks into the laminate below the waterline. One note of caution: The vast majority of the claims in temperate states involved boats that were being stored ashore. Since water retains heat longer than air, boats surrounded by air are more vulnerable to a sudden freeze than boats surrounded by water.

bulkheads, and keel. (Don’t store your boat on a cradle that was built for a different model boat.) Steel cradles are best, but wood cradles will also do the job if they have been inspected for deteriorated wood and corroded fastenings. Shipping cradles are probably OK, but most will require some modification to improve lateral support before they can be used for winter storage. Despite the advantages, storing cradles in the off-season is often a problemat many crowded boatyards, which instead rely on a combination of screw-type jack stands, blocks, and timbers to support hulls. Most boatyards do a competent job of positioning the supports, but it never hurts to discuss technique with the yard manager before the boat is hauled. You could also take a cue from commercial vessels, which have their own blocking plans indicating where blocks and jack stands should be placed to provide the best support for your boat. Manufacturers may be able to supply you with a plan, or you can work with the yard manager to devise one yourself using a diagram of your boat. Save the plan and give a copy to anyone who hauls the boat in the future. With jack stands, the stand should be perpendicular to the hull so it directs the boat’s weight toward the ground. Misalignment of the stand will force it out as the load is applied. Even if the stand is aligned perfectly, safety chains must be used to prevent stands from slipping out from under the hull. Jack stands should be placed as far out from the boat as practical to support the boat in high winds, with at least three per side for boats over 26’ and additional supports at overhangs. Plywood must be placed under each base to prevent its sinking into mud, sand or asphalt. Even when stands rest on clay that seems brick hard, they can be loosened by heavy spring rains, shift, and spill the boat. While jack stands must be placed properly to prevent the boat from falling over, most of the boat’s weight usually rests on its keel. Some boats have specific requirements for support of the keel, but at least one manufacturer warns against putting weight on the keel. If the marina manager isn’t familiar with your boat, check your manual or contact the manufacturer. Keels must be supported by wide timbers or blocks — the wider the better to distribute the load. On powerboats, additional support is usually recommended for inboard engines, fuel tanks, and heavy machinery. With outboard and outdrive boats, weight should be taken off the transom by lowering the drive units onto a block in a manner consistent with the manufacturer’s recommendations. After the boat is blocked, sight along the hull and keel to make sure the jack stands aren’t depressing the hull. (You should also check in about two weeks, after it has settled.) The boat must also be level, or water could pool and cause stains, mildew, and/or gelcoat crazing. Finally, never secure the boat’s winter cover to the jack stands or support blocks. There are many accounts in the claim files of boats that fell over after stiff winds filled the covers and yanked the supports from under the boats.

STORAGE ON RACKS AND TRAILERS An increasing number of boats are being stored ashore on dry storage racks. These racks are designed

to support “typical” boat hulls, but can’t always be adjusted to support unusual or atypical designs. If you have doubts about the support provided by a rack, consult a marine surveyor or consider an alternative winter location such as a trailer, which has adjustable rollers and pads to support critical areas. The exception is deep-draft sailboats. Trailers are designed to support these boats when the wind is on the bow and are rarely wide enough to provide adequate protection for certain boats (typically, racing sailboats) when strong winds are on the beam. To provide additional lateral support, use extra jack stands along the hull and unstep the mast to reduce windage. Centerboard boats will probably be OK on a trailer, especially if they are secured to the trailer’s frame and the mast is unstepped. Tying down a boat stored ashore provides great extra protection from high winds, particularly on the beam. This should be done with straps or non-stretch lines running from strong points on the boat (such as mooring cleats) to securely attached pad-eyes or similar hardware on the ground.

HUNTING WHITETAIL WITH THE TRIJICON HURON RIFLESCOPE BY WADE MIDDLETON In deer hunting, many hunters will have a day when they’re going to be let down by the quality of their riflescope. It happened to me when I was younger. Now that I’m older I’ve heard these same comments time and time again from other people, “I just couldn’t see him.”, “My scope was fogged up…”, “It was late, and the buck was in the shadows.” Sound familiar? The next comment is almost always… “I knew I needed a better scope, but I wanted to save a few dollars and thought this one looked good when I looked through it while I was inside the store. In most cases, the buck that got away because you couldn’t see it could have been avoided with a better riflescope. When it comes to shopping for riflescopes, this is one of those times you need to spend more on and not less. Far too many of us go grab a rifle, throw a cheap scope on there, and don’t pay attention to the scope mounts, the quality of the lens, how well the scope is built or how it’s going to perform in low light situations. This can all be avoided if you

will take a bit of time and think about the next few paragraphs and keep in mind the following: – The clarity and ability to gather light in low light and rainy situations – How fast can you acquire the target through the scope RIFLESCOPE CLARITY & LIGHT GATHERING The clarity factor when it comes to optics is such a big deal. During low light situations, what is happening a lot when you’re hunting is that light is not your friend. Since deer tend to move at dawn and dusk, or in really bad rainy/nasty conditions, it’s not going to be sunny and bright outside. So because of that, the light gathering capability of a riflescope is something that is a huge factor between different brands. When you go into your local Bass Pro Shops or Cabela’s, and lift a riflescope up to take a look at all the great mounts on the wall (that are in a well-lit building) of course almost all scopes are going to look good! But when you can get outside at dawn or dusk and in different lighting conditions, those riflescopes that were – What crosshair pattern fits your style

is a leader in giving you a multitude of options when it comes to finding the crosshair pattern that you’re the most confident in. Me personally, I’m a traditionalist. I go back to when I was learning how to shoot an old BB gun with a cheap 3×9 scope and that’s what I’ve trained my eye on. Now some incredible things are built into a lot of these new scopes right now to give you better aiming points, but I like a traditional look. Other people may like something totally different and that’s what’s cool about the Huron riflescope lineup, there are so many options within that lineup designed to help whitetail hunters find that crosshair that they personally are going to like the most. So when you start looking at different options out there for riflescopes, the Trijicon Huron riflescope whitetail lineup exists because it’s going to allow you to find what fits you. Are you a guy hunting in the thick woods? Are you hunting out West? Are you hunting off the side of a mountain? In a box blind? Regardless of where you are hunting, you want to take the information from this article, understand it, and use that data to make the best choice possible when it comes to your scope.

crystal clear and bright in the store are not going to look the same. Therefore you’ve got to take them out in the field and test them (and then return it if you’re not satisfied) or do a lot of research on which ones will perform in those situations. When you look at the Trijicon lineup of optics from top to bottom, the quality of their optics is something that’s going to be high in quality and built tough. Trijicon’s products like their riflescopes can last in the field in all elements whether it’s snow, high heat, low light, and rough conditions, and even those times where you might be banging your gear around. The components, the clarity, and the elements in Trijicon’s multi-coated lenses are going to make a big difference when it comes to those first five or last five minutes of light when you’re out there trying to identify the target to put the crosshairs where it matters. FAST ACQUISITION OF YOUR TARGET I’d like to share my thoughts on something that’s not talked about enough, and that’s rapid target acquisition. Many new hunters will crank up their scope’s magnification far too much and in turn, cannot find the vitals and hold the crosshairs on them consistently. This is where understanding your scope’s magnification and when to adjust the magnification in different hunting situations is key. Having that ability is something that Trijicon really takes a lot of pride in. If you grab some scopes, it’s kind of a battle to adjust them. You can feel the movements are tough and jerky. I suggest you try something like the Trijicon Huron scope lineup that Trijicon has designed for whitetail hunters. It has the magnifications in three different choices to help you as well as having that smooth adjustment between magnification ranges on each model. CROSSHAIR OPTIONS There are a lot of options when it comes to crosshairs in today’s world for rifle scopes, to the point where it can almost be overwhelming. Trijicon
